The representatives that victims of sexual harassment and other unwanted manners inhabitants, must face a complex task in a complex force field. Non-act carefully also has legal implications. There is very little research known to the role, position and expertise of these representatives. The unrelenting stream of posts about abuse and harassment in all levels of our society makes a firm foundation for a professional care not only very timely but also indispensable. This research brings the tasks and required competences of the confidential counsellor and sexual harassment. At the base there are experiences of experts: Behavioral experts, lawyers, trainers, very experienced representatives and policy makers. Carla Goosen, behavioral scientist and therapist in mental health, but also a mediator, complaint investigator and confidant, let clear see how sexual harassment in the workplace largely is caused and maintained by abuse of power based on gender differences. A gendersensitieve attitude is therefore of great importance. Also comes from her analysis clearly that only the vertrouwenpersoon with an optimal view of the tasks within the custom function is able to employ the right competencies. |
