Résumé : |
Why was Belgium in 1830 a monarchy? How does the kingship? What is the Statute of the Royal family? What is the cost of the monarchy? The Royal family pay taxes like all citizens? What powers does the King? Are these powers evolved? What is the role of the King in the Government formation? How far the power of the King? Succeeds King Philip in it the monarchy into the 21st century to translate? And there is still a role for a King in a confederal Belgium almost where the emphasis is increasingly on the Federal States? This - and so much more - questions get an answer in this book. In The size of the monarchy investigations Hendrik Vuye and John Walton the power and resources of the Belgian Royal family. Politicians who in the (recent) past promised to modernize the monarchy, never pushed through. Give concrete recommendations for a modern and Wouters Vuye kingship. To monarchy still somewhat to do rhymes on democracy.
Review (s) The monarchy still make sense? That is the central question of this study of two Flemish scientists and politicians (until recently of the right-wing nationalist N-VA). They view the monarchy in numerous ways: powers, utilities, role in Cabinet formations, cost, speeches, court. They analyze sound, though they can their party politically colored aversion of the monarchy not always avoid. There is very good to the Dutch situation looked, as an example for a ' modern ' monarchy where many of Belgium can learn. Although they say to see no future for a monarchy in the changing, becoming more and more Federal Belgium, they come at the end with a list of 25 tips ' to the monarchy still somewhat reconcile with democracy ': such as doing away with the Christmas speech, make it easier to understand the cost, it is purely ceremonial and so no longer play a role in formations. The discussion that is being held here, is international, so did the arguments. It is specifically focused on Belgium, including the sources and the many (untranslated) French quotes. |
