Résumé : |
Fluid resuscitation is the large concept of how to manage fluid loss in different settings and in relation to multiple pathologies that may contribute to this loss. It is a known concept applied for decades that has evolved numerous times since its origin. In this report we want to focus us on the optimal strategy to be followed in the operational military setting, from the point of injury until arrival into the medical treatment facility. It contains a literature study of the different fluids in relation to their use in the military battlefield, on the different levels of casualty care, where we discuss timing, types of fluids to be used and administrating strategy in diverse pathologies. All this information is combined in form of a protocol, as a new guidance in the pre-hospital fluid resuscitation for the military environment, but can also be applied in similar civilian conditions. |
