Abstract: | This book gives briefly the fundamentals of the theory of waves generated in the ground when explosives are detonated. It has been established, that the sudden changes of the parameters of explosive waves, observed in the ground, are primarily the result of the change in air and water content in the ground pores. Negligible fluctuations of this trapped air and water can change the parameters of the waves many hundredfold. The results obtained permit us to study the total effect of the waves more thoroughly, to increase the effectiveness of blasting operations, and to more soundly implement the safety measures. The book is intended for engineers and scientific workers involved with explosive operations, questions involving the effect of an explosion, and the theory of explosion waves, and also for undergraduate and graduate students specializing in this area. |
